Character: Kuroro Lucifer
Timeline: Before Kurapika placed the Judgment Chain over him and sealed his Nen in the airport.
Personality:

The first thing that you know about Kuroro is the fact that he is the leader of the Spiders, to put it simple. Because of that just his presence is enough so that his followers show respect and admiration (in their own way) towards him, in short, he's a person you do not want to mess up with.

He possesses a great skill for leadership, is capable of getting control and manipulate the personalities of a group of people that enjoys murdering and stealing as a living. His calm, thoughtful behavior puts him in a good position to go with their plans and get what he wants in the end. He can reward his companions with celebrations and entertaining when a job is well done; and he can punish and order around when there is negligence among his followers. Kuroro works under a set a rules to avoid conflict and is well respected among them.

Despite the fact that he acts as someone who manipulates the people from the shadows, Lucifer does care for his fellow friends and companions, in his own way. He's capable of crying for the loss of someone he has spent much time with, at least as a show of respect for that fellow friend. When someone he cares and considers close to him departs to another world, he believes that his soul is still present and that they should honor said part of him with habits that person used to have.

Kuroro is someone who takes all the things into consideration for the possible outcomes and plans he has. He knows what is of value to him, what people can do for him, and what he can obtain from it. He knows how society works and the benefits of his actions; in some way he acts for a kind of retribution of his own belief. Killing and stealing are fine to him and he won't feel guilty for his actions nor will he regret them. He doesn't hide his name when asked since he can go along with all the reactions people have for him.

Lucifer is a monster that appears a man. He is usually smiling, keeps a calm attitude but he won't hesitate to control people by fear if needed. Knowledge and treasure are two things that go along with him and that makes him to be such a fearsome opponent. He can twist conversations in his favor, he can manipulate events while showing a facade to others; he tends to go beyond what the normal people can see, seeking what is valuable for others.

Reading people and using their weakness to counterattack them (either in a conversation or battle) amuses him. He seeks to entertain himself by looking for interesting things, as he tends to become bored when things do not get interesting after a while. Although he can appear as someone heartless, he does give chances to people and sometimes can act for the greater good with his actions.

However, even when he knows he's the leader and the head of the spider, he instructed them to keep moving forward even if he dies at some point. Even then, and because of the level of fondness they have for him, they are unable to do such thing and risk everything in order to save him, proving once again his skills as a leader. Lucifer is confident in his abilities and battle skills, as he's able to put a challenge to Killua's family when they face him. Once he gets serious, he's a fearsome adversary.

As a final note, Kuroro is really fond of books. It'd not be a surprise to anyone to find that he knows plenty of information that comes from them and the ones he uses for pure entertainment. He's someone who doesn't think Judas was a traitor compared to his own group of people and it is only expected that he's the perfect deceiver that carries such cruel acts with a smile and a calm attitude in his face.

Background:

What we know of his childhood and late past is that Kuroro is from Meteor City, a place where no one is registered or exists for the rest of the world in the official data. Some of the members of the Phantom Troupe are from said place since he started it with a few ones from that city.

The next time he appears in the story, is when he's speaking to his subordinates, organizing their next attack to steal everything from the Mafia and its auction, of course it includes giving them the privilege of killing anyone attempting to stop them. He orders seven of his men to go and the rest to stay in the hideout, however, when his men arrive to the auction and try to steal the items, they notice that they are gone.

When Kuroro is informed about the situation, and that one of his members suspects they have a traitor among then, Lucifer dissipates any doubt with a simple explanation that it is impossible that it can be someone of them. He orders to lure out the Shadow Beasts (a special group of Nen users from the Mafia World) and get answers. Of course, it goes without saying that a single man, Uvogin, massacred them all except from the one that was holding the items.

During that, Uvogin is captured but is successfully rescued by the rest of his team members. However, he insists in searching for a chain user to get revenge.

Lucifer then makes his next move, after observing a picture of Neon, and approaches her disguising himself as a bodyguard and helping her to get into the Auction place. After doing so, both of them spend a moment chatting and talking, involving souls and departed people, in which she mentions that she can tell him his fortune. Kuroro accepts and she reads his prophecy and then he cries. He shows sadness when he reads about Uvogin's death and this is where he steals her Nen ability.

When he enters, he knocks Neon with his fists at a great speed and pretends that she's sick to get to the higher floors for his own doing. There he kills almost everyone who opposed him and gives the final signal to all his subordinates to attack at once. Kuroro then is ambushed by Killua's family in an assassination mission. Noticing how strong they are, Kuroro fights with the idea of stealing his abilities. He doesn't seem to be afraid when he recognizes them as the Zoldycks and provides to give a good challenge to them.

At the end, before they could attempt to finish him off, they get a call from Illumi telling them that the ones that hired them, the Mafia leaders, are dead by the order of a client, who happens to be Kuroro. When they are about to leave, there is a short talk with Killua's grandfather in which he proves that he was not really fighting seriously. Calling out the rest of his members, he gives the order to let Neon live in the ambulance, fool them with fake corpses, steal the original items, replicate and sell the fake ones and leave the place. Yay, time to celebrate this victory!

Since everything was done in that place, Lucifer decides to leave the city, but one of his members refuses and attempts to stay to fight Kurapika for what he did to Uvogin. The next that happens is that Kuroro uses the ability he stole from Neon, gives everyone predictions that some of them might die and they end fooled by Hisoka's ability and manipulation to stay. With some small deduction, he figures out that Kurapika must be one of Neon's bodyguards. Thanks to the fact they sold the Fake Scarlet eyes to them, they figure out that they are staying in a certain hotel.

The next comes spiting the members, Lucifer orders Kortopi, Machi, Nobunaga, Pakunoda and Shizuku to go with him. They notice that they are being followed by two people, he tells Kortopi, Nobunaga and Pakunoda to go ahead while he, Machi and Shizuku stay behind. They easily capture Gon and Killua and the others figure out that Kurapika is the chain guy after him killing Squala, and Pakunoda reads his memories. The group then meets at the hotel and Kuroro orders Pakunoda to check Gon's and Killua's memories, but a power outage happens, the two kids attempt to escape as a decoy, and Kuroro ends up being kidnapped.

The two children are captured again. Phinks, Feitan and Shalnark receive a call from Kurapika speaking the conditions to give Kuroro back and that they must not hurt any of his friends, they speak with Pakunoda to go to the airport and negotiate the the terms of the hostage trade. Lucifer then speaks with Kurapika and tells him that he puts his friends above anything, creating an easy weakness to attack and that the knows his fellow members will come together to save them. To avoid that, Kurapika informs about Melody's abilities to detect lies, forcing them to leave Pakunoda alone to go to the airport.


Abilities/Additional Notes:

Kuroro Lucifer is a Specialist-type in the use on Nen. His power lies in the skill named Skill Hunter that allows him to steal another nen techniques from other users and store them in this book "Bandit's Secret". To use it, he must hold the book open in the page with the ability and keep the book open in his right hand.

The one who was stolen from the ability cannot user it anymore, but for Kuroro to steal an ability he must follow this conditions:

I) He must witness the Nen ability in action with his eyes.
II) He must ask about the ability and be answered by the victim.
III) His victim's palm must touch the hand print on the cover of Bandit's Secret.
IV) All of the above must be done within an hour.

Lucifer has trained enough to battle with these conditions and be a fearsome opponent, so it is clear that he is quite well trained in hand-to-hand combat, has a good reflexes and can think fast in a battle.

[ A simple video starts recording to show a man sitting in a comfy chair, hands placed together and arms rested on his legs. His body is leaned so the position will be a comfortable one as he is smiling calmly. ]

It has been written in many books about the endless outcomes that can happen from a simple act. What some think of as a treasure, for others could mean nothing. For some Judas was a traitor for selling Jesus and on the other hand some people do not see it as a bad thing.

[ The man makes a thoughtful pause. ]

The turns of events are quite interesting, aren't they? To think in all the new opportunities that are given here. Perhaps we can agree to share some information about this new place, a good way to help a someone who just recently arrived, am I right?

[ Kuroro chuckles a bit. ]

Sample RP:

The sound of the clock as he waited for replies was all that Lucifer heard for a while. He rested his arms on his legs, leaning to a position he was used to do back in his hideout. The fact that he was here, considering the previous background in which he was in was quite troublesome, yet he remained calm.

First of all, he would need a place to stay and where he could conduct his normal habits. Perhaps a good book or two would be nice too, but he wanted information. He also considered the fact that there might be someone from his world too and because of that, he couldn't allow any mistakes in his conversation.

"Perhaps this will provide to be quite entertaining. I escaped my hostage situation to be confined in another world, a chance I was not expecting, but I can appreciate." His voice was calm, yet there was an amused tone hiding in those words. "Very well, the spider can still move despite not having its head. And who says its legs will not appear later in this confined world...?"

In the meanwhile, Kuroro Lucifer planned to get the best out of this situation, no matter how many souls would be corrupted with the undeniable truth of the cruelty of the world.
